Sometimes when you go shopping, whether it is online or physically, sometimes you walk into a place and think, “Yeah, this is GREAT!” That is what I was thinking when I first stumbled upon this site.It has a very basic design and I was super excited, because it seemed almost intuitive. It had a lot of downloads to choose from and it took me a few minutes to find some web development books that interested me.
But unfortunately, even though the first download I tried to access had three download links, none of them were active. The second one I tried sent me to a site that wanted me to set up a membership to be able to download.

There are many websites out there that sell ebooks, and this is one of those. It is kind of like going shopping in a big city, and finding that cute little owner/operator book store and with the book you have been looking for. This particular site has a section of Free Ebooks available for downloading.
If you visit their site here: http://www.theebooksale.com/weekly_freebies/index.html you can download PDF’s right there without having to enter any personal information. There are approximately twelve ebooks there right now and at the bottom of the page is a link to the free ebooks they have in their cart system. http://www.theebooksale.com/zen-cart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=68

We have found another great site with a great collection of information to download and it is all FREE!
This website is operated by Paradise Publishing, Inc. In order to use the website and download the ebooks and information for FREE, you need to agree that you will use the ebooks totally for your own personal use. All they would like in exchange is for your information in your account to be accurate and up to date. It is really easy to sign up, at the top right of the homepage you just click to register. They only want your email address and name. They will send you a confirmation email immediately and then you can log in.

I have found the easiest way to find FREE ebooks is to search the web using my favorite search engine. Everyone has a favorite but I have a tendency to use google most days!
Most ebooks come in a PDF format for easy viewing and downloading. Beware of ebooks that have different file extensions. They can be executable file extensions that will run programs on your computer when you click on them. They could carry anything including viruses and Trojans. PDF’s are nice because it is a universal platform with a free reader from Adobe. If you don’t have it, you can download it here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Are you tired of your books on the shelf?
What kinds of ebooks are free online?
This is the question everyone wants to know. It really all stems back to what is copyrighted. If a book still has an active copyright on it, then there is someone who should be profiting from it. Those books are obviously not free. Unless they are giving them away for a certain promotional purpose, most writers want to get paid.
Luckily for us all, there are sights that convert classics with expired copyrights into ebooks and then make them available for downloading. Introducing Project Gutenberg at http://www.gutenberg.org/ .
